This set includes fourteen fixtures in three sizes. The set
builds model aircraft sizes from 1/2A to .40 size. If you typically
build small field models or box-fuselage type sailplanes then this set
will get it done for you most economically.
A set like this is also nice if you have a drill press with a cast-iron
table. Before I built a dedicated drill press table I used my
fixtures frequently to hold small parts in position because it was a lot
faster than trying to find ways to rig up C-clamps to my table which has
funky ribbing all over the bottom that my clamps kept slipping off of.
Almost without exception my customers are taken by surprise the first
time they put one of my fixtures on a building board and try to remove it.
They really aren't prepared for how much holding power they have.
None of my sets are appropriate for rubber-power stick and tissue
models. Not even this set. These fixtures are too heavy-duty
for those kinds of models.
Due to customer requests there is now an option to purchase this set
without magnets or magnet-mounting hardware.
Please be aware that
these fixtures are designed for one specific magnet and are not guaranteed
to work with any other.
